The Saw Mill Tavern, Ardsley
Great bar and community spot!
The Saw Mill Tavern in Yonkers is the perfect spot for the little village of Ardsley. It’s a great bar with a pretty typical bar menu, but it is also a great gathering spot for the locals. There are plenty of visitors from outside of the town as well as the tavern has become a bit of a local destination for sports and other events.
Proprieter Ray has put together a great spot the locals to gather. The Saw Mill Tavern has a great bar scene as well as a restaurant you can bring your family to. I recently was there for an event that featured the local music school, River Rocks, for a showcase for the students. The place was packed with parents and grandparents and the kids all had a blast performing on the stage that is also used for regular music acts most weekends.
There’s plenty more to do as well. Friday DJ, Trivia…
On my recent visit, I was there on a Sunday afternoon which happened to be darts league day. The bar was pretty busy and the four dart boards were as well. There are plenty of screens here for watching the game. Not the biggest screens but they’re happy to put your game on any of these.
On this visit I had some great wings. A bit meatier than your usual and it came as it is supposed to, with celery AND carrots. You usually don’t get carrots anymore at your local pub. A big deal? Not really but they try to do the small things right.
There’s a full menu of bar favorites and family friendly dish’s (kids menu) as well
The bar is long enough to fit 15-20 people and in my visits, service has been great.
The Saw Mill Tavern is worth a visit. It’s not far off the Saw Mill Parkway and access to the Sprain from here isn’t so bad either. It’s in the Ardsley Plaza Shopping Mall so there’s plenty of parking. Check it out. Say hi to Ray the owner if he doesn’t say hi to you first.
