Valhalla

I’ve coined Valhalla, NY the “gateway to upstate NY.” While there are many routes through which you can go further North in Westchester and then further to Rockland, Putnam, etc., taking the Bronx River Parkway out of White Plains, you’ll meet head first, the remarkable Kensico Dam and park.  The damn is actually quite a majestic site as far as Westchester goes. Continue to go North from here and you’re on the Taconic Parkway headed for all things upstate. As far as bars go, there are just a few in this sleepy town best known for its dam and cemeteries. The most notable is Valhalla Crossing which we’ve reviewed below.
